A Friend-ifesto

I don't want to sound like a drama queen, but screw it. This has been bugging me for YEARS.

I don't want folks around me who are polite, to the point of pretending to be my friend, or even pretending to like me. Life is way too short for pretend friends.

1) Guess what? Not everyone likes everyone. I'm a grown woman, I can accept that. If you don't like me, DO NOT BE MY FRIEND on social media. If you don't like me, and you see my friend request, DON'T ADD ME. People have not added me back sometimes, and I respect them for it. And when that happens, message received! I will not bother you again.

2) You may currently be an online friend, and you've recently decided that you do not like me. If you drop me, I might be a bit hurt, but I will have way more respect for you as an honest person, than if you pretend to be my friend.

3) ...and this is the one I don't think will ever happen, but on the rare occasion that I notice that you've dropped me, and I ask why, TELL ME HONESTLY WHAT'S UP instead of giving me some half-assed lie. I'm smart enough to know when I hear bullshit. Again, I'll respect you a lot more if you're honest. I know that our society is way too polite for this part of my friend-ifesto, but I figured I'd throw it out there anyway.
